I Don't Have to Be Perfect

Many girls set unrealistic expectations for themselves early in life. Research shows that perfectionism is on the rise amongst girls today. The need to be perfect negatively affects mental health increasing anxiety and depression. Carol Dweck of Stanford University and author of Mindset discovered that trying to be perfect stops us from reaching our potential. From being our best selves.⠀

So what can we do? How can we help girls embrace their messy, imperfect selves from an early age? We've talked about this some in other posts, but we'll be diving into more depth with lots of tips in our next newsletter, which will go out next Monday.⠀
